The non-woven design of the Mentor ObTape Vaginal Sling obstructs oxygen and nutrients. The vaginal sling was introduced to the marketplace in 2003. Within three years, the medical device was removed due to serious medical complications as well as its ineffectiveness in treating urinary incontinence.
